The very first idea to produce a WODE came up in may 2008.
The concept of the WODE (from which many other teams have taken the idea) is related to an old conceptual-planning project of the free team crazynation http://www.crazynation.org/GC/ .
After analyzing this code, we built and learnt the basic functioning method of the bus data WII and subsequently we were able to write a code, absolutely valid and performant also on the Wii.
As a matter of fact the code linked above is a code only for GAME CUBE.
The creator was our programmer linux/arm, while other 2 guys were taking care of VHDL’s programming of ACTEL.
The first development card is shown in the screenshot (photo 2) and was developed from the guys of VHDL. Unfortunately after 6 months of unsuccessful trials, caused by the lack of dedication of the vhdl team and by the errors occurred during the programming phase of the first version, we decided on December 2008 to substitute the vhdl team with the GURU. In this way the results appeared in a very short time.
After remaking the DEV BOARD from the beginning as shown in pic (photo 1), we had right away excellent results. On march 2009 we were proud of loading the first game of GAME CUBE from a usb card.
The development and improvements didn’t end there as we were able on august 2009 to realize the first working WODE FIRMWARE; our goal was to complete this job before Christmas 2009.
On September 2009 WIIKEY FUSION announced a new chip based on SD CARD, therefore we had to anticipate the announcement date of WODE for September 2009.
Unfortunately the development of the vertical stand slowed down the production phase. On the ending of November our team flyes to China to supervise on the WODE’s hardware production but only on the 20th December we have a successful conclusion of the project.
The shipments start on the last week of December 2009, Wode borns in the last days of 2009 and from this moment we can say that a new generation of addon’s for consoles has born.
