I am very new to all this WODE and Homebrew site and setup.

Firstly, The instructions are very easy to follow. Unfortunately, I have a problem that I am having trouble working out. When I downloaded the files as shown by R_N_B it has not downloaded the DVDX Installation. Is there another download to be done to complete the process as the channel will not work in finding my games that are saved to the hard-drive.

I also came up against another problem when upgrading from v1.2 to v2.8 for the WODE. I now am limited to 4 regions. JAP, KOR, US and EUR. So much for being a region free program.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix these two problems?
Many thanks,
Wally

DvDx no longer exists for HBC 1.0.7 and above. Take a look at this guide as it has the file needed and wodeflow and a video install.

You just need lego Indiana jones: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4701

Alternatively, follow the guide by R_N_B and skip the step about DvDx.

As for the 2nd issue - so much for you reading about a product BEFORE purchasing... You can ONLY do what your Wii could before having a WODE. Out of region is possible on 4.2 and above but with hombrew.

As per the user manual - which I assume you did not read else you would have known this answer - the setting you refer to MUST be the region of your Wii. If it isn't good luck plating your in region games.

As for playing out of region games you can do that on WODE.

On 4.2 and above Nintendo blocked out of region gaming so you use wodeflow and now you can out of region game play again.

On 4.1 you can out of region game play from the disc channel - you still MUST set the Wii Region to be YOUR Wii region. And in the wode settings (again as per the user manual, in the WODE news section - manuals online) set the region patch: ON.

For a general setup no matter Wii version I recommen region patch on.

So there you have it. The "so alled region free" does exist - even though it has never een claimed to make your Wii region free

Hi Guys long time follower, 1st time poster.
Question is have a wode it works well, using wodeflow with the covers all good through the homebrew channel to load wodeflow. Wii version 4.3, Homebrew 0.8, wode updated 2.something
Now I read you can have a channel to get into wodeflow from the wii menu like the toy story link. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3740
Whats the difference between a forwarder and a channel and what do I need.

If I d/l the Wode Flow Forwarder, http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?2su54g06p5vjzgj,
SD\apps\wodeflow what do I do with it????? how to install
I have small kids 6y old and under so the less buttons they have to press the better.
Cheers guys

Hi ravenit,

A "channel" and a "forwarder" both look and feel the same. They both put an icon directly on the Wii menu so that you do not have to pass through the HomeBrew Channel (HBC).

A "channel" contains the full application, so it will work even if you remove the SD card from your system. Because of this, the channel occupies more of the Wii system memory. Also, because it contains the full application, it may not be the same version of WODEflow, and you'll wonder why some things work when you use HBC but not when you use the direct channel.

A "forwarder" is a very small application that points to the same exact program that the HBC uses. The forwarder will not work if you remove the SD card. It is easy to upgrade WODEflow to newer & newer versions, because you simply update the boot.dol file on the SD card, and both your HBC version and your direct forwarder version use the same file.

I am 99% sure that you want a "forwarder". WODEflow will technically work as a channel and without an SD card, but you really need an SD card or else you won't see the cover art. Since you will have an SD card, then you might as well stay with the forwarder.

I cannot verify your mediafire link to a WODEflow forwarder. Below are some links to a few different forwarders (you can only use one of them at a time, though), plus some links to how to install them.

Hi Ted thanks for that info now both of the bottom 2 links talk about channels aswell so am I right to say d/l this http://www.mediafire.com/?2su54g06p5vjzgj its a .wad
then
Download, SD card cboot2.rar (which I cant download as its set to private)??????
I need some sort of installer to install a .wad I only want it as a forwarder....???
Where do I get a installer?

Quote....
Backup your sd card, then delete all on SD card. (or use a dedicated SD card for this feature)
Extract SD card cboot2.rar to SD\
you should have:
sd:\bootmii (cboot2)
sd:\startup.elf
sd:\boot.dol
sd:\wad

then add your channel wad to sd:\wad

Start HBC channel from System Menu.
Press Home to launch Bootmii IOS.
Wad Manager starts.
Select wad to install.

Once you have selected your Forwarder, you need an app called MultiModManager to install it. Google for it

Below is appropriate excerpt for using MultiModManager

More on Sunday when I return. Good luck.

3.2 Using MultiModManager
Download MultiModManager: http://mmm4wii.posterous.com/. Extract the MMM directory from the archive to SD:/apps.
3.2.1 Start the application via the Homebrew Channel
3.2.2 Select "WAD Manager" from MMM's main menu
3.2.3 Navigate to or highlight the WAD containing the IOS you would like to install and press "A". Confirm the installation with "A". Press any button to continue.
3.2.4 Press Home twice to exit MMM.

Congratulations, you've finished installing an IOS.

Part 4 - Channel Installation
ATTENTION! Never install untested channels you found somewhere on the Internet. Only use channels from trusted sources and use a brick protection like BootMii or priiloader.
Place the WADs you would like to install in SD:/wad and follow the guide from point 3.2 onwards. When you arrive at point 3.2.3 select the channel's WAD you'd like to install of course.

Hi guys, I did everything as you guys told, I installed HBC and wodeflow cuz I did want to lay on the couch while browsing for games, I have set the CFG settings on my wode, and all my games are correctly seen by the wodeflow, but I have a few questions:

1) if I want to stop playing at a game, I press the home button on my wii remote and I return back to the wii home page, but if I want to reload the same game again and I press on start on top on the left suddenly a gamecube icon appears, I'm obliged to go to the wodeflow, browse for the game, and press play, also you guys have got this little problem ?
2) and what about the gamecube icon ? what is it supposed to do ? I pressed start and the same display which usually displays on the wode display appeared on my tv, but I had to shut down the wii because the screen got stuck
3) if I want to unmount a game, I'm obliged to press eject on the wii, can't I do it with the wodeflow ?
4) do you guys know the name of that program that can play .mp4 and .mkv files and run dvd videos (I have a lot of dvds I'd like to run)

Your WODE is currently set to "AUTO LOAD: CFG". Change it to "AUTO LOAD: LAST".

You are launching the WODE's built-in game selection menu. It is a GameCube-compatible program, and requires that you control it using a GameCube controller. Since you use WODEflow, you can ignore this program.

I believe you are correct. For most people, the only reason they would unmount a game is to mount another one, which WODEflow does automatically... Or occasionally, to rip a new game, which requires you be at the Wii console anyway...

Sorry, no idea.

Hope this helps,

I don't know if the newest news arrived here, but there is a new exploit for wii v4.3 firmware, called letterbomb :)
Something like a bannerbomb v3, but for the wii pinboard.
http://hackmii.com/2011/08/letterbomb/
So we don't need certain games anymore for v4.3
